@xCosmicMuffinManx still has 25 years of experience. he may not have the most experience with talking to people (like a regular therapist etc) but he still has a lot of credibility for things he does off camera. they really do do a lot for the mental health community.

Did you watch the episode?? They’ve been trying to get her into proper therapy and she refuses to make an effort at all. She even admits to that at the end. That when she went to therapy at home she didn’t care at all. This was a last desperate attempt

@Cupcakes R My Life Yeah, 100%. The “so we can’t harm her” just reeks of a PC way of saying “she made up the only thing that she knew would protect her from being beaten to a bloody pulp”. Sorry but people in this comment section who are siding with the parents seem to want it both ways. If she isn’t entitled to privacy or choice because of her age, then they are also FULLY responsible for any behaviours that she shows whilst she’s a minor. Pick a lane, because those two ideas have to go hand in hand. They either have rightful control over her or they don’t.
We set a certain age at which people become adults, because those are the ages at which people are considered to have full mental capacity to make their own decisions. If she doesn’t have that right, it must follow that she doesn’t have the capacity, and it must then follow that she cannot be morally judged for her actions, but rather it must be those who have “ownership” of her.
She should sue.

Hurting someone isnt always physical harm. I would assume, cause i havent watched the episode, that she is in fear of retaliation (NOT PHYSICAL), of getting “punished” by her wrong doing (something that any parent would do, and all of us have experienced when we did something bad as a child, i persist NOT PHYSICAL) Thats, her understanding of “harming”, even more if what Phil said about her wanting leverage control and power is real.
She is “defending” herself, not because of physical or phsycological harm, but defending agains getting retaliation about her wrong actions and misbehaving, cause having retaliation would mean that she is in no control over them, and control is exactly what she seems to want.
I was spanked when I was living under my parents roof, and guess what? I didn’t do that mistake again.
